The more we reuse, the less we waste.

In a major step forward for Australia’s circular economy, Charitable Reuse Australia has launched a new Reuse Logo—a bold, unified visual that symbolises the value of keeping goods in use for as long as possible.

Until now, reuse has lacked a recognisable symbol to reflect its critical role at the top of the waste hierarchy. This new logo fills that gap, representing both pre-loved items and a shared commitment to caring for people and the planet. At its heart is a vibrant red symbol: a heart for the human and environmental benefits of reuse, and an arrow to represent the ongoing lifecycle of goods in a circular economy.

The Reuse Logo is free and available for anyone to use. It’s designed for broad adoption across:

  • Op shops, social enterprises, and commercial reuse organisations

  • Councils and government campaigns

  • Circular fashion and furniture brands

  • Circular economy practitioners and advocates

  • Retailers and businesses selling or promoting pre-loved items

Whether you attach it to a price tag, promote it in-store, or use it in digital campaigns—this simple visual is a clear and compelling reminder that reuse matters.

For the furniture industry, reuse plays a key role in reducing waste and extending the life of well-designed, quality-made products. AFISC members are encouraged to explore how they can incorporate the Reuse Logo in customer communications, sustainability initiatives, and resale programs.

Together, we can accelerate reuse in Australia’s homes, workplaces and public spaces—because the more we reuse, the less we waste.
